As the OE supplier of two-stroke pistons to KTM, Vertex pistons has an outstanding reputation for quality and performance. Each gravity cast piston is created with only premium aluminum alloys utilizing an 12-21% silicon content.
The silicon content in Vertex pistons is crucial to the quality of the piston. Silicon is critical in decreasing thermal expansion which, when an engine reaches normal operating temperatures, can change the geometry of the piston. Controlling this expansion means that a Vertex piston can be run at tighter tolerances for more power, less noise and a longer lifespan of the piston. Plus, the silicon content decreases wear on the piston skirt which also aids in the life of the piston.
In addition to the silicon, each Vertex piston utilizes a unique Molybdenum Disulphide (MOS2) coating which aids in the break-in process and reduces overall wear.

As most riders know, KTMs come stock with Vertex pistons. With so much advertising these days, riders can choose from Wosner, Wiseco, Vertex or other after-market pistons out there. I have always gone with Vertex pistons since I have been on KTM and have had great success with them. The coating they have on the outside of the piston allows for the piston to wear-in correctly during the break-in process. They also last along time between piston changes. Last season, I ran our enduro race bike on one piston and it still had great compression at the end of the season (I won High Point B on it at the last race). I would never run another piston besides Vertex!

BRP Skidplate
BRP off road skid plates protect your frame and engine cases from damage. Our off-road skid plates are designed with side coverage to protect vulnerable water pumps and side covers. The BRP Hand Guards may have been one of the best things that I have added to my bike. They easily replace the bar mounts and are heavy duty. The moose racing, enduro engineering, msr bark busters bolt up to them with no bending needed. For my Acerbis hand guards, I had to bend them a little in order to get them to fit, but once they are there, they stay there. They are so strong that the hand guard will bend before the bar mount will go anywhere.
The BRP Chain Guide is the first aftermarket chain guide that I have used outside of the stock one. It is extremely strong and has taken a beating this year, but has stood up against everything that I have hit with it. I also have noticed that it does not wear down my chain circlip as fast as the stock did. I thought it would be orange according to the website, but it is actually red.
The BRP Skid plate is a top notch skid plate that is very strong. It is made of thick aluminum and has saved my frame from all of the boulders this year. One modification I did do to it was pull the two side protecting fins further outward. They had clearance but I was afraid that a rock could knock the side plates into my clutch or ignition cover. I also trimmed a little off of the pipe side because big rocks were pushing my pipe into the front edge of the skid plate. The skid plate has been awesome and I recommend them to everyone.
The BRP Brake Reservoir cover is a trick piece of machined aluminum. It has also held up very nicely to the demanding terrain.
